Market Situation of Large Forgings in China

At present, China's large forgings market is still under the dual pressure of "surplus" and "shortage". The supply of general large forgings exceeds demand, resulting in price competition; the production capacity of large forgings with high technical content and quality requirements is low or can not be produced, and can only rely on imports. China's imports of large forgings to foreign varieties are mainly power plant forgings (thermal and nuclear power steam turbine Senior high school low-pressure rotor, generator spindle, ring), marine low-speed diesel engine combination crankshaft, roll (large support roll, high requirements of hot-rolled and cold-rolled work roll), part of the high-pressure vessel barrel. The main reasons for users to import are: there are still some problems in domestic smelting technology, which can not meet the requirements of high-quality forgings, long delivery time and high price. The opinion of a steam turbine factory on domestic forging enterprises is that the technology for providing large-capacity steam turbine valves and rotor forgings is not very mature, and the quality and delivery cycle cannot meet the requirements of the project schedule. At present, China has to produce large-capacity supercritical and ultra-supercritical steam turbine forgings, large-capacity nuclear power nuclear island and regular island forgings. The quality requirements of these large forgings are very high. Although China has large-scale smelting equipment and forging equipment, the defect is that the smelting technology is still poor. If this problem is solved, the production of large forgings can be fully localized and exported to the world.

These problems can only be solved by improving the management level and improving the mechanization level and carrying out comprehensive technical transformation. They are definitely not the problems of small number and small grade of forging hydraulic presses. In the production of large-scale free forgings, we should learn from foreign experience and develop in the direction of specialization. We should form our own characteristics according to our own conditions and be good at opening up and occupying the market.
