Development Status of Lost Foam Casting Technology in China

In recent years, the lost foam casting process has been used very well in China's foundry industry with its unique advantages. However, there are still some problems in the development of lost foam casting, mainly in the following aspects: 1. The production scale of lost foam foundry is small. 2. Some manufacturers lost lost mold casting quality, casting yield is low, failed to show the advanced nature of this process, seriously affecting the market competitiveness of this new process.
In recent years, the lost foam casting process has been used very well in China's foundry industry with its unique advantages. However, there are still some problems in the development of lost foam casting, mainly in the following aspects:
1. The production scale of lost foam foundry is small.
2. Some manufacturers lost foam casting quality, casting yield is low, failed to show the advanced nature of this process, seriously affecting the market competitiveness of this new process.
3. Some key equipment imported from abroad and domestic supporting lost foam casting manufacturers have large investment amount, raw and auxiliary materials rely on foreign countries, and the localization process is slow. They can make good samples, but the production scale cannot go up and the cost cannot go down, thus losing their competitiveness.
A considerable number of small factories, lost foam casting equipment is too simple, workshop dust flying, worse than the traditional sand casting working conditions, dust, harmful gases and other serious environmental pollution problems, the loss of "green casting" reputation.
The main reasons are the following:
L some manufacturers to introduce lost foam casting technology is not careful, not scientific enough, the lack of professional in-depth understanding of lost foam casting, the target product is not clear or lack of product technical feasibility and economic rationality of the full demonstration.
2. The enterprise leaders have high expectations for the new process, and there are not enough technical personnel within the enterprise to digest the process, so there is little practice and stable production.
3. The lost foam casting process of most manufacturers is still very rough. Lost foam casting seems simple, and the actual process links to be controlled are greatly increased. We basically use the simple method of making anti-wear parts in the early stage to make more complex castings, molds, gating systems, etc. There is no strict process procedure.
The quality of raw and auxiliary materials is poor and not stable enough.
5. The ability to develop new products constrains the speed of conversion.
